Where to go in August for a few days?

I fancy going abroad or somewhere in the UK for a few days. I like culture. I like beaches. I'm happy with either or both.

Thought about going to Lithuania, Latvia, or Poland. But decent flights are £300-400 which aint happening. Anywhere with cheap flights has expensive hotels!

Budget for 3-4 nights with flights is about £800 for two persons.

If you haven't done Croatia I'd head there. It's absolutely gorgeous.

If you want to stay in UK have you been to Rye on the south coast? Beautiful town, camber sands nearby and some lovely interesting other places around including some nice vineyards.

I like Malaga a lot. Beaches and culture and lots of flights. Look at trains too.

Alicante City is gorgeous, we spent a few days there, you can get a bus from the airport, Marina, beach, wonderful architecture, very Spanish, English is not widely spoken. We loved it.

Bath is lovely (you must be OK with hills!). York too. Any idea of whereabouts?
