8 hour time difference- tips?

Just arrived in Vancouver with kids to see family.
We arrived at midnight the first night, so was 1:30 local time by the time we went to bed and kids slept until 6. I woke at 4 but could function fine. Had a full day out in the sunshine and thought I’d cracked the time difference.

It’s currently 4am. Kids have been up watching Netflix for a while as woke at 3 and couldn’t get back to sleep, and I haven’t slept a wink all night.
Any tips? Really don’t want to ruin our holiday by getting run down and poorly from lack of sleep! The more I stress about why I can’t sleep (and the kids having only 6 hours) the less tired I feel!

Thanks :)

Melatonin would be my advice! Should be available OTC in a drugstore.

Came on to say melatonin too! Get 3mg bottle. Take half an hour before you want to go to sleep. Should keep you asleep for the night a bit better

Came to say melatonin too 😂 helps you get to sleep and genuinely a lifesaver on long haul holidays!

Thank you :) Day 3 and we managed to sleep until 5:30 today after 2 days of 3am, so may have finally cracked it!
