Cheapest time to book a holiday?

What time of year is best to book a holiday? Looking now at Med holidays for May half term next year and wondering/ hoping if prices are lower if I book another time of the year.

February is always fairly cheap

Generally either less than 6 weeks before or as long as possible in advance.

If you wanted a pool holiday I think pools will be too cold for swimming at this time.

We usually find the week after the Easter holidays is cheap, after the schools have gone back.
