Please help me decide which flight I should go on

Hello, I was wondering if someone can help me with this dilemma about my flights?

I initially booked a flight from Gatwick with luggage and transfer to Cyprus on 7th August , arriving 430am on 8th
however when I heard about the upcoming strikes, I panicked as I have reduced mobility and lots of pain and I didn’t want to be one of those people who is forced to sit on the floor for hours waiting on delayed flights with an 8 year old ) so i booked a cheap alternative flight for me from Heathrow on the 5th as only flight that we could afford
Both flights are non refundable
My hotel is booked from the 7th
On the 5th I can get a taxi to my aunt’s apartment but as there are people staying there I would have to stay on the sofa
It would also cost me another 100 in cabs getting to her apartment then from her apartment to the hotel which is in a different town (ayia Napa) on the 7th and paying for extra hold luggage
If this was you, would you just take the original initial flight now the strikes have been cancelled ( I actually lose a day holiday as arrive in Cyprus 430am on the 8th )or should I go on the new flight gain an extra 2 days but have to sleep on the sofa and pay extra £100 cabs and £23 luggage
Thank you x

Have the second set of strikes been cancelled OP? I would go for the Gatwick flight - seems like less hassle and you can always leave the airport and call the airline to be rescheduled to another flight if they do end up striking on that day.

Can you get a cheap airport hotel or Airbnb for the second flight rather than a sofa/£100 cab?
