First time in Paris coming up.
I would love suggestions for breakfast and dinner restaurants. Cost not as important as a lovely ambience and good food.
Mumsnet has always come up trumps. Hit me with your suggestions. Thank you.

St Regis cafe. One of the best https://www.lesaintregis-paris.com/

We also loved Brasserie Lipp and if you want something touristy then Cafe Flore for hot chocolate

Le Saint Régis

We had an amazing meal here a few months ago. It was our wedding anniversary, so a special occasion, but the food and cocktails were SO good.

Chartier for traditional French food in amazing surroundings, and cheap! Expect to queue at peak times , but worth it for the experience

Last time we were in Paris we enjoyed:

Les Enfants Perdu - great value, buzzy atmosphere, good wine, fab desserts.

Buvette - one of our favourite places for brunch in Paris. One of the best Croque Madames I’ve ever had.

Les Enfants du Marche - amazing seafood in Les Enfants Rouge market. In fact the whole market is worth a visit!

Aux Bon Crus - lovely atmosphere, good classic food, great value.

Thank you all so much. Very grateful. Will report back!

Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower

@Blueotterwhale so we ended up at Brasserie Lipp on one of the evenings. Not cheap but exactly the atmosphere I wanted and same menu and decor since the late 1800s I believe.
Thanks all.

We loved Brasserie Lipp too. We also ate in Le Grande Colbert - beautiful surroundings & nice enough food.

You've got to do a Bouillon just for the vibe - Bouillon Pigalle ?
Chez Kei is good all round amazing French Japanese fusion - but may be booked up.
Les ombres for the views
L'arôme for the food
One of the Yves camdeborde places near marché saint Germain for wine and finger food (l'avant comptoir )
On thé terrasse at l'entrepôt in the 14th for a cool evening of people watching new rive gauche Parisians

A la biche au bois near the Gare de Lyon is good! And second the recommendation to visit the Marche des enfants rouges.
