Where to go end of August / start of September

I'm looking for a holiday end of August / start of September, any suggestions? It's just me and my 26 year old dd going and I'm hoping to get a cheap deal as the schools will be back by then.

I was thinking about turkey but thinking it might be too hot.

Possibly not the cheapest as schools not back til 4/5th of Sept so maybe the end of that week. And I think everywhere will still be scorchio! Cyprus is lush.
