Mallorca for adults

Heading to Mallorca for the first time in early Sept with my new husband (a part two to our honeymoon). Staying inland (Alaro) and we've hired a car. Any recommendations, please, on interesting places to visit? We like scenic walks, local history, markets, good food. DH not much of a beach person. (I love a quiet-ish beach myself) Neither of us are fans of hugely touristy spots. Thanks!

The restaurant up the hill above Alaro is called Es Verger. They do lamb slow-cooked in beer in a big wood-fired oven which is to die for. The road up to it is quite an experience too, as a PP said - get a small car!

There's a ruined castle at Capdepera which is worth an explore. Once you have climbed to the top of the old walls there's a tiny little medieval church which is still in use.

The Cueves De Drach is a massive underground lake and they do classical music concerts that you go to in little boats.

Pretty much every hill in the centre of the island has a Santuari or Ermitage at the top, many of them are open to visitors and again the roads up are an experience in themselves.

If you have a hire car the whole island is explorable in a couple of days, so just head out and enjoy 😊

@PrimalLass we've stayed all over - so many nice places - as soon as I get off the plane in Palma I'm in a good place. Really love Palma itself too- we always have a few days there as well as resorts/villages -

For some reason, I've not been getting notifications on this thread and just saw all the other suggestions. Thank you all so much. I'm taking notes and making plans. 😍
