Any recommendations on places/ areas to stay in or near Dubrovnik?

Looking for somewhere near a beach, near restaurants and bars etc.

Lapad, Babin Kuk or Ploce would fit the bill.

Lapad is a good balance between being close on public transport to the old town and having lovely beaches etc.

Hotel Dubrovnik Palace is lovely, but perhaps not close enough to restaurant / bars.

I've stayed at both the 4 star Valamar Lacroma and the 5 star Valamar President both in Lapad. The President has its own beach loungers at the ftont. They are both an easy bus ride into town.

Or thinking about it, if it's more of a beach holiday you want with access to Dubrovnik then a work colleague stayed at Cavtat which he said was more of a beach type resort and get the boat to Dubrovnik.

We found Dubrovnik very expensive for restaurants and drinks and I believe Cavtat is more reasonable. Plus Dubrovnik is quite compact so you can do the main sites in a couple of days.

We’ve stayed in Srebreno and Mlini which are about 20 minutes water taxi from the old town. you can walk between the bays which have quite a few restaurants and bars, neither are loud/clubbing places but you might like that. There is a third bay kupari which has abandoned hotels in it which is really interesting to walk around and has an almost sandy beach.

we found Serbreno better as a family holiday as it has a really good supermarket that sold nappies, baby pouches and Aptimal (same prices as uk)

Cavtat. Lovely place with regular boats to Dubrovnik. Take sea shoes though - there are urchins and the sea bed is very rocky.

Just back from Mlini which is 20 minutes by Route 10 bus from Dubrovnik or Cavtat or use the water bus. Dubrovnik is very, very expensive but Mlini much cheaper and beautiful. Had a lovely time and will definitely go back. Narrow pebble beaches - they don’t do sand there so as said, do take sea shoes. Lots to do, some great restaurants and out of the melee of Dubrovnik.
