Catania airport on fire

Apparently Catania airport has had a major fire... if your flight has just been cancelled what will you do?

I got a flight to Naples and then got the direct train. There is also a ferry (overnight) from Naples. Sicily is super hot at present and I'm not sure I would travel if I could choose again.

It is super hot but looks to be cooling down next weekend

I'm wondering if they might have sorted the airport out by 2nd.

@TrishTrix when I say "cooling down" I mean 31degrees rather than 44.

Airport at catania is the worst ive been to, without fire issues,so god knows how it will be now. Can you change the holiday?

I don't require a beautiful airport - just one my plane can land in!

The fire at Catania airport is nothing to do with climate change though- it's a totally separate issue to the fires in Greece (and 000s of miles away)

Re getting home - my friend just came back from Sicily- she had to drive to Palermo and fly back from there. Easyjet changed her flight. But it was pretty chatic by the sounds of it.

I know where it is, it just felt like a stark juxtaposition.

Flying is one of the many things causing catastrophic climate change!

Wtf are you all thinking about, even considering flying?
