Are the gatwick strikes just affecting departures from Gatwick?

we are due to return from holiday during the strikes but a colleague told me the strikes are only affecting people departing from gatwick and not arriving? Does anyone know. What I’ve read doesn’t clarify so I’m guessing my colleague is wrong?

It's hard to tell. If flights don't depart, then aircraft aren't in the right place for the next flight.

So we’ve booked a package holiday. We miss the strikes to go out there but if they are striking when we come back, what happens? Will we be stuck out there?
