DH and I are planning to take our DDs 10 and 12 on our first overseas family holiday in October half term this year. We've narrowed it down to the Canaries but feels like we're going round in circles looking at Jet2 holidays and Tripadvisor reviews so wondered if the mumsnet hive mind could help at all with recommendations from successful holidays past please!

Our requirements are :

*All inclusive

*A suite with separate sleeping area for the kids (rather than all in one room)

*Direct beach access

*Ideally a water park somewhere within day trip distance!

Any help gratefully received!!

Iberostar Lanzarote Park. We went via Jet2Holidays and stayed in May. Amazing hotel!! Ticks all your boxes. We stayed in a family sea view room, bedroom for us and kids slept in living area. Could easily switch round and have kids in bedroom. It was easier for us to do it that way. Water park is very local. Beach is next to hotel. All inclusive was fabulous!

@mintz It looks fab and is going on the shortlist, thank you! 😊

Princesa Yaiza Suite Resort is right on the beach and very close to Aqualava. There’s a kids club for 9-12 year olds so they’d be together if they went along to that.

Just had a look at prices this is quite expensive for the October half term. Not sure if prices have increased since you went but all holidays seem to be going up by so much.

@Fivemoreminutes1 Thank you - being able to go to a kids club together is a definite plus point I hadn't considered - never done a resort type holiday before so it will all be new to us!

Sensatori Tenerife/gran melia palacio de isora is the best hotel I’ve ever been to! So nice

We had a great holiday earlier this year at Green Garden resort in Tenerife. It has an all-inclusive option and some two-bedroom suites, and is a 10 minute bus ride from Siam Park, which is the best water park I’ve ever been to.

It looks amazing and then I saw it had a salt water pool - the longest in Europe apparently.
The combination of sun, salt and suncream wreaks havoc on my skin ☹️

Taurito Princess in Gran Canaria. If is right next to the beach and a water park. We went all inclusive and really enjoyed it

It has another two (or maybe three) pools too but the big one is pretty to look at

I've stayed at the Iberostar Lanzarote Park. It is indeed fabulous. Food, location, pools. We stayed in the adults only area so no idea about family suites.

Don't think the local water park is great, Siam park in Tenerife is hard to beat although October half term is maybe not quite warm enough for water parks.
