Skiing - how to book

Thinking of going skiing next year (march/April time) but not having much luck finding sites where I can book.

First times with 2 DC so need somewhere family friendly.

Can anyone recommend sites or travel agents to book with?

Crystal, inghams, Sunweb are all out for next season now.

We’ve booked with Sunweb for the last couple of trips. We’ve booked accommodation with Sunweb which always includes lift passes and then booked flights and transfers separately.

However, if it’s your first time you might be more comfortable with a package. Crystal also have buy one get one free with lift passes at the moment.

Peak retreats is a great company to book with. We have been with them 4 or 5 times and always had great service. They do lots of apartments but I particularly like the CGH apartments. Always a good pool/spa and always been well looked after. Peak Retreats

If it is your first time, then stick to the package operators as they will deal with all of the organisational tasks for you.

E.g. Crystal, Nielsen or Inghams for Austria, France and Italy. My personal favourite is Austria, followed by Italy. I'm not keen on France for beginner children - lessons there seem to be more boot-camp than fun, whereas in Austria the focus is on learning through having fun, and instructors all speak English.

If you want to use a travel agent rather than booking direct, look at Alpine Answers, who can often come up with a wider choice of options than just looking at the main operators.

How old are your children? If they're younger (under 5) I would recommend Ski Famille, really fantastic setup makes skiing with young children so easy. if you don't need childcare etc, then as other have said Inghams or Crystal for hotels or Alpine Elements are good for chalets, they only offer transfers from the airport so you can pick your closest airport to fly from, which may suit.
