Hi all,

Looking for a bit of advice or to see what other people’s experiences have been when it comes to taking their main stroller on holiday.

We’re travelling abroad in a few months time and by then ds will be 6 months. We have an amazing sturdy stroller that we use just now. It was expensive but it’s great and has everything ds needs. Comfort, fully reclines, upf 50 sun sail and large storage basket underneath. It is rather heavy but completely manageable and as it’s too big to go in the overhead lockers on the plane, it will need to be checked in with our baggage.

Does anyone have any experience from taking their main stroller on holiday? Did it get damaged at all by the airport staff? Or is it generally suggested to buy a cheap travel buggy… if so, does anyone have any suggestions of what one to buy?

Thanks!

I wouldn't. The chance of it getting broken by baggage handling or in the hold is pretty high. Or it could go missing and then you're stuck without a stroller.
Also suncream, ice cream, sand, steps etc it will probably end up quite grubby.

If you're checking it in as well you'll probably have to pay for additional luggage, whereas if you take it to the gate it counts are your free baby item.

Buy or borrow something smaller you can take to the gate. There are lots of compact options that lie flat and have a sun shade.
