Travelling mid-Aug, 2 adults, 3yo and 5yo, 1 week between Dubrovnik, Split and Plitvice Lakes, 1 week resort near Split.

Any top tips please?? Particular beaches, restaurants, activities, views, tours / tour guides… anything at all!

We only flew into and out of Split airport but my one memory of it was that it was quite small for the number of flights that were departing. The departure lounge was ridiculously congested and there's barely anything in the way of shops / cafes to take snacks and food and be prepared to sit on the floor for an hour!

Go to Brac, easy on the ferry from Split and is beautiful. We stayed for a week there preceded by a few days in Split last year. It was lovely and peaceful after the hubbub of Split.

Lovely place. We have been this year. Be prepared for big price variations between the busy places like split and Trogir v the Kastellas. In split a gin and t was 12 euro. For four of us we early had a bill under 250 euros for dinner unless you ate burgers

Ooh, ouch, okay… we’re flying to / from Dubrovnik, fortunately. Spending time there, in Ston, in Plitvice Lakes National park, and near Split.

We stayed overnight at Plitvice Lakes and the hotel owner was very insistent that we should get up at crack of dawn to get in there as soon as we could. We are very glad we did as we had a lovely dawdle round them, then decided to have a cup of tea and go round again - and didn't as it was like the Trafford Centre the weekend before Christmas - wall to wall people.

Go early or late would be my top tip.

We've just returned from a week in Split region and then a week in Cavtat. It is way more expensive than I thought it would be! Use uber rather than cabs. A meal out in Dubrovnik was £300 for 4 of us (3 courses but no alcohol). Split wasn't much cheaper. Take plenty of cash as some places don't take card.
The buses are good.
