French low emission zone sticker

Just discovered we need one of these for our holiday.
I have found the right website, completed the details and dutifully compressed the JPEG of the reg certificate to 1.3 MB (because, incroyablement, a simple photo is too big for the French government website).
it still won’t fucking work. Every time I press continue nothing happens.
anyone got any handy hints? Some hidden trip wire I don’t know about?
makes note to never complain about DVLA again .

Well I’ve done it. Compressed PDF of the reg cert was the answer, in case anyone is in same plight

Thanks for flagging. Where are the French low emission zones?

They're a legal requirement in some French cities which show the car's emission levels. You only need to buy it once for each car and is only a few Euros. RAC has details here
