If your only holiday all year was ten days in October, where would you go?

There is NOT a huge amount of money to spend on this. Unfortunately I have a husband and 2 kids (3 and 5) in tow too. Any ideas?

not a lot through first choice flying from scotland?..try other travel agents?

I'd second Lanzarote and in particular Playa Blanca. Also suggest Globespan. We booked flight + hotel with them last year and were well pleased with both price and quality.

My main holidays are always April or Oct, great as I don't want it hot.

We have been to Lake Garda and Near Barcelona both just warm enough for shorts and t-shirts but only just.

Also been to paris then it was freezing.

We went to Lanzarote one October. To our surprise it was one of our best holidays ever. The weather is likely to be better there, some areas of the Med can be a bit uncertain at that time of year. There was a pleasant breeze in the evenings which meant everyone slept well - not stuffy at night.

We went with Direct Holidays from Edinburgh and despite Dhs worries the accomodation was very nice with no rowdy folk - families mainly.

It is very exciting to go up a volcano and see a stick catch fire when the man pushes it into the ground. He also poured water into a hole in the ground and it whooshed back up as steam. Lots to see and do - even a cactus garden was interesting for Dss and Cesar Manriques' underground house, now a museum - and the roads are v good. (DS2 not travel sick - a first!)
