DS was going interrailing for 3 weeks at the end of the summer. His friends are based all over the U.K and go from 18 - 20. However there is only 7 actual days they most can do together so not worth it now.
He was thinking of booking a villa/ camping site or something similar so that others could drop in or out over the couple of weeks. They aren’t drinkers, smokers or party kids. They like walking/ hiking and sleeping lots.
Any suggestions for places that might give them opportunities to walk, explore but also be a good base ?
Hes done lots of European cities but maybe somewhere like Berlin or Eastern European. He fancies Montenegro. I’m not organising anything but looking for ideas as the usual party towns/ cities I know aren’t for them

Zakopane in Poland? Lots of walking, cable car, cheap beer, chance to visit Auschwitz or the Salt Mines, and Krakow.

Zakopane is a great budget friendly option (assuming they are students!). Lots of walking to be done in the tatras and as a pp said it's very convenient for Krakow.
We also loved walking the 'historical way' in Norway and staying in their mountain hostels although this is a much more expensive option. There are decent buses there from Oslo.

Thank you! He’s actual goes to Scotland quite a bit to see his dad so it probably rules that out.
Everywhere else is a good shout. Never heard of Zakopane. Sounds ideal! Will Google.
They are all keen to go to Norway actually but not sure they have the funds to make it a base. Or maybe they do, who knows.
Thanks again.

Brecon Beacons? Lake District? Yorkshire Moors?

Shame about Interrailing. Can any of his friends do the three weeks? I.e. just go anyway?
