Hi, we have 2 days to make the trip across France and would really like somewhere family friendly to stay overnight can anyone recommend somewhere? I hunt online and seem only to find places that are fully booked, or ridiculously expensive! The accommodation doesn't need to be fancy but in an ideal world it would have a pool and on site parking as we are travelling from a eurocamp and our car will be completely full! Our kids are 9&12

Thanks in advance.

Have a look at the Accor.com website. Novotels generally have a pool and family rooms, and lockable parking in the out of town hotels. When are you travelling?

@MissAmbrosia thank you! I didn't realise they had pools I will take a look. @AlisonDonut - the worst time! First week in August so I know I need to get something booked in asap!!

I think you might be a tad too late.

If it is that week, you are going to be hard pressed to find anything south of Paris in all honesty.

I'd break the journey in Nantes and visit this place Les machines de l'île - Machine of the isle of Nantes (lesmachines-nantes.fr) It's worth booking a ride on the elephant.

Poitiers is good, although maybe a bit too far for the first leg (about 5 hours). It has the Futuroscope theme park there if you wanted to add that in.

Or Amboise area, near Tours.

For the Poitiers hotel, I can recommend this one https://garrigae.fr/en/etablissements/manoir-de-beauvoir/

We found it good as we needed a 5 person room, and they have a little sitting area away from the bedrooms. Also a pool and secure parking.

Manoir de Beauvoir - Garrigae

There's a Novotel with a pool in Amboise, which is not far off Google's chosen route, and is a beautiful town well worth a visit.

For a random date I'm getting a room for 4 for just over £136 (assuming the kids can share a bed), cheaper if you become a member.

Thank you so much everyone I managed to get a Novotel for under £100 for the 4 of us! Very relieved. Thanks for all the advice
