Gatwick hotel recommendations please

So we don't usually bother staying over at LGW because we live reasonably close but the last couple of trips we've booked have had v early flights. We stayed at the Courtyard last time and it was HORRIBLE. I would rather get up super early than stay there again. Uncomfortable beds, sticky carpets, bedroom had a "window" that looked out into the inside of the hotel (?) Yuck. So can anyone recommend one that's nice enough, please? Needs to have family rooms or interconnecting and either parking and within a couple of miles or actually at the airport and with or without parking. But we're planning to head over after dinner so doesn't really have to be fancy or anything. Thank you!!

Bloc Hotel is my current go to at Gatwick - just checked and they have family rooms. In the South Terminal, nice rooms, modern, clean, easy.

Sofitel the best at North Terminal in my experience.

Premier inn north terminal. Good price and all you would expect from any premier inn.

Premier inn (can't remember which terminal). The comfort/cleanliness is good and it's cheap.

Definitely premier inn. You’re literally right outside the door to the airport as well.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 11/07/2023 13:44

Premier inn for me too.

Bloc hotel, especially if you're flying from South Terminal. It's inside the terminal, so you don't have far to walk to check in. They also give fast track security passes.

We stayed in a family room at the Premier Inn in October. It was hideous, never again.

Best I've stayed in was the Sofitel. We got a really good deal with car parking.

helpfulperson · 11/07/2023 19:17

@Definitelynotme2022 what was hideous about it?

Verite1 · 12/07/2023 01:13

We always stay at premier inn. Usually chaotic checking in but rooms are fine, it’s cheap and it’s literally opposite the terminal.

Thanks everyone. Al the ones mentioned have no family rooms on our date. We'd need to get 2 doubles and take a child each which would obviously make it expensive. Has anyone stayed at the Hilton? Is it clean and comfortable?

Have you looked into staying in the pods in the airport yotel themselves? You would have to book two but they are lovely, really clean and comfortable and you literally cannot get closer.

Sallywallywoowoo · 12/07/2023 10:07

Pods are a good call. I think the kids would find that very exciting as well 😂. Thanks

Can’t beat a Premier Inn, directly opposite the airport, no shuttle bus to worry about either, just get up go!
have a lovely holiday. 😊

Chatterboxy · 15/07/2023 16:51

Meant to add, that particular Premier Inn has got some interconnected rooms too.

Sallywallywoowoo · 15/07/2023 17:45

Thanks everyone Ive booked the Premier Inn suggested 🙂
