Best way to get to Las Ramblas from Barcelona airport

We are on a bit of a budget and staying near Placa Reial just off Las Ramblas. I’m a bit confused by the Google directions as it is suggesting a 20 minute walk when we arrive at the airport. Anyone got any advice or experience please?

The airport is a 20 minute drive. Taxi will be about €35.
There is also an airport bus that goes into town. The last stop is Placa Catalunya , the central hub of the city.. It’s an easy 15/20 min downhill walk down Las Ramblas from there. It’s cheap but is busy.

I would get either the Aerobus or Bus Route 46 to Plaça Espanya then switch to Metro L3 towards Trinitat Nova to Liceu. It’s then a short walk to Plaça Reial.

How many of you will there be? Taxis are usually about €30-35 so not extortionate IME

Look on TripAdvisor. It’s one of the most frequently asked questions so has current prices etc if you search it on the Travel Forum section.

As pp said, bus from airport to playa catalunya takes about twenty minutes. Get off outside the big department store and it's literally a 2 minute walk to the start of las ramblas.
We did this last December and return to airport is from the same stop

I’m sure you’re aware, but please be Very careful with valuables, purses, phones etc on Las Ramblas and public transport. Have an amazing time!

Yes, just jump on the bus from outside the airport. Buy a return ticket, make sure you dont lose it and get the return bus back.
