A heads up really.

I decanted 70 mls Pureology 21 benefits spray into a 100 ml travel bottle with a pump and it didn't make it through security at Luton Airport. A bit miffed due to the expense ( it usuall last me 6 months) and v difficult to manage long highlighted hair on holiday.

The staff said there was an unpermitted substance in there

Anyone else experienced this ?

They would not have known what it was, could have been an explosive.
Better to have put it in hold luggage, or do they make a travel size ?
I only take a few things in hand luggage that are still in original branded bottles.

Did the bottle have the 100mls etched on it? Some airports don't allow bottles through that don't have the volume marked on it.

We didn't take hold luggage so didn't have the option. Yes the bottle was etched 100 mls. I had a couple of other 100ml liquids that got through, I'd labelled them body lotion & shower gel. Ironically the cheap stuff got through. Lesson learned
