Bavaria tips?

We’re going to spend a day driving from Munich to the Black Forest, and I’d love some tips of where to stop off, or any must-sees en route.
Heading to a campsite at Steinach which I think is near Baden Baden.

Google maps gives several options, the route along lake Constance (Bodensee) would be the most scenic option. I would suggest stopping at Lindau or Meersburg but it would be a long day as there will be plenty of tourist traffic along the lake and it may well take longer than Google suggests. If you could stop overnight at the lake you would definitely get to see more must-sees and could do both these towns. I’m not sure what there is on the route via Ulm, Stuttgart etc but you could look for castles ( Burg / Schloss) on the route. Burg Hohenzollern is a good one (although I’ve not been) but it’s a bit off your route. Avoid the motorway at Pforzheim if Google wants to send you this way as it’s a constant traffic jam. Just remembered- Ulm has an ikea but also the tallest cathedral in the world !

Do you mean Steinbach?

If so, you could visit Tuebingen which is a nice old town with an old university. Or there's the outlets at Metzingen if you fancy a bit of shopping.

Hohenzollern castle is nice. Rottweil is a nice small town. Ulm has the highest church steeple in the world.

One thing if you're driving from Munich is the A8. It's a disaster. We lived in the Stuttgart and spent many an unhappy hour sitting in our car on that road. It may be better to take a slower route and stop off at a few places instead.

If you're doing the Lake Constance route and like monkeys, you could visit Affenberg.
