Sofa beds in hotels

We’re looking for a hotel abroad for our next holiday, will be myself DH, DD almost 12 and DS 10. In previous years the double sofa bed provided in most family rooms would do but now they’re getting too old and obviously need their space. Can anyone recommend a good hotel that provides everyone with a bed rather than a sofa to share. Thanks!

It’s a nightmare, I have two teens now and really struggle booking appropriate accommodation. I’ve found static caravan sites work, but it’s not always what you want. We stayed in Tenerife in February at this place https://baobabsuites.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=local&utm_campaign=resultado_google%20_local booked through Jet2, wasn’t cheap but was really lovely.

We went to the same hotel pre and post covid
5 star AI in Turkey

Both times the bed for ds was a chair that folded out. The first time when he was 8 it was fine

Last year he was 10 and it was too small. I went to reception and asked for it to be changed - went out for the day and cane back to a single bed in its place.

I completely agree OP, it’s so difficult to find this and doesn’t seem to be a standard option to search for on tui etc websites. I only have 1 child, a 4 year old. But I don’t want to sleep in the same room as her. Nor do I want to put her in a decent double bed in a bedroom and have my husband and I on a sofa bed in the lounge. But I also don’t want to put her to bed in the lounge and tip toe around her all evening!! Can’t win. I feel like wanting 2 interconnecting rooms really isn’t that big an ask but found it impossible to find at all inclusive resorts. Yes perfectly possible in a caravan, air b n b, holiday cottage which we have done in the past but this year I wanted all inclusive and just couldn’t find this.

I’ve seen that blog before but unfortunately i don’t think it’s very up to date and lots of the hotels have changed names and so on so I didn’t find it as useful as I thought.

Jaz hotels in Egypt have two single beds in family rooms, divided from main room with a curtain or door.

Our two are 15 and 13 now and I have been putting 2 rooms in the searches. Which of course means it’s more expensive!

The room we had last year in Majorca was called a suite and it was absolutely tiny. We put the kids in the bedroom and we slept on the sofa bed things. They were crap,we all need a bed now. DD is 5ft 11!

we’d also like a villa which then solves this problem but they’re very expensive compared to package holidays.

I’d look at family friendly hotels in the area you are interested then call the ones you like the look of and see what they can offer

Novotel suites are good for connecting rooms. I've had some disappointing experiences with sofa beds in family rooms too!

Sun Gardens, Dubrovnik
Martinhal Sagres, Portugal
Hard Rock Hotel, Maldives
Vila Bled, Slovenia
Hiiton Sorrento
Hilton Whistler
Domes of Corfu
Domes Lake, Algarve

Have stayed at all of the above recently with the children in separate rooms but in the same accommodation - two bedroom suites basically.

Most of the Sensatori hotels have family rooms with two separate singles as well as a king bed.

I've stayed in family rooms in hotels with either a double bed & twin beds or a double bed & bunk beds.
