So far we've been to Vendee and Brittany. We don't mind going back to either. But just wondered if anyone had any personal recommendations. We're planning to go in July (beginning)

Thank you

We are going to The Loire in August with 2 ds (5 & 3) and dd, who will be about 10 weeks then.

Its lovely, more 'french' than brittany - you can tell because the tiles are red

We use Brittany Ferries.

Samur is lovely, and I have a fav campsite there just a couple or few miles from the town

www.campsitereviews.com/english/site_000010.htm

The first time I visisted this site dd2 was 6 months old and I went back when she was 18 months old.

Went over from Poole to Cherbourg and stayed at The grande large www.caravansitefinder.co.uk/parks/13644/gallery It is a short drive from the ferry - about 10 miles, so makes life easy with small children.

Then drove from there to samur - towing it took about 4 hours.

Hi,

We have a very child friendly gite in Normandy, having recently had a baby, Emily 4 months old, we have doubled up on everything we use and put it in the gite we rent out.

Have a look at our website:

www.labellepetitemaison.com

We sleep 7 and provide a cot.

We also have a large pool and a paddling pool for the little ones.

Good Luck with your holiday either way.

Kind Regards
Rachael

I've recently just spent two weeks in a gite in Brittany, I found it through another thread on mumsnet and the website is www.gitegorvello.com. It was fab. We got in at short notice and I have never stayed in such a high quality gite before. There are three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, one with a bath which was great for bathing the kids after a day running and digging on the beach. Fully equipped kitchen, everything you could possibly need for little ones, cot, high chair, toys etc. It's only about 10 minutes from the beach and there are loads of child friendly things to do in the area. I also found it quite reasonably priced compared to other gites in the area. Give me a shout if you want any more information, but if you're going on holiday with children and what somewhere nice to stay then I would certainly recommend this gite.
