Goa in August? Which beach?

I went to Goa in August once and wouldn’t to again - it really was completely out of season, everything was closed and the place was dead! The weather was also terrible the first few days although it brighten up after that. We ended up leaving the coastal resort and checking into a B and B place in a city (possibly Panaji, can’t really remember) so we could at least go to shops and restaurants. The weather was also nicer inland. I have been to Thailand lots out of season and had no problem with the rain and quietness but Goa was much worse. This was a long time ago though about 15 years so things might have changed, and we might have been very unlucky with the weather, but check whether things will be open when you are there!

My dad went in August. Everything was closed and it rained the entire time.

It’s rainy / monsoon season. Go at Christmas instead
