What can I bring into Spain?

We're going to Spain next week, and reading up on what food we're allowed/not allowed to bring. The kids are both quite picky eaters, so we were thinking of bringing a box of cereal just so we know there's something they'll eat the first couple of days; also maybe some biscuits or something for the journey.

We're confused by the regulations though - somewhere I read said that you're not allowed anything that's got meat or dairy in it, but then somewhere else I read that it's only things where meat/dairy are a major part of the ingredients (eg cream cakes).

Does anyone know specifically? Would we be allowed to take a box of cereal (in hold luggage) and biscuits (in cabin baggage)?
