Yucatan Mexico tour

We're hopefully going to Mexico in early December (DH and I and 2 adult DC). I've booked (cancellable) apartments but not flights yet.

The plan is to spend 4 nights in Puerto Morellos, one night at Chichen Itza, 4 nights in Merida and 3 nights in Isla Holbox.

In Puerto Morellos we'd do a day trip to Sian Kaan and in Merida we'd want to do day trips to Uxmal and Celestun.

I'm trying to avoid hiring a car, and use drivers instead.

Has anyone here done anything similar? I would be interested in recommendations for drivers if possible, and any other tips. Thank you.

Use bikes on Holbox - it’s the best way of getting around. IIRC it’s car free. Wonderful place. For the other places it’s easy to use drivers - my hotels arranged it all for me.

The buses in Mexico we found to be excellent, would recommend them. Taxis have the prices up and we had no problems with them. Holbox has these electric little jeeps - we went in one to get out to the beach to see the bioluminesence. Valladolid is a nice place to stay for a Chichen Itza visit.

Thank you @TBOM and @Superdupes. We're looking forward to Holbox to relax before the flight back.

I will have a look into buses as I remember someone else mentioned them a few years ago and I'd forgotten.

I’ve recently come back from there.
We did a trip to Sian Ka’an with this company
Mexico Kan
It was fab.
(we’d prebooked CI with them too - equally good, but appreciate you may want to drive there if you’re hiring a car / staying nearby)

Doh - just seen you are planning on not hiring a car! In which case organised tours might be quite useful for some if your trip. The guides we had were super knowledgeable, plus both trips included lovely lunches.
