Looking for a December getaway.
Is the Canaries my only option?
I'm in Scotland and I can fly to Tenerife from my local airport but would be willing to fly from Glasgow or Edinburgh if there was better short distance options.

Madeira, beautiful island.

If you want sunshine Tenerife is probably your best best.

Southern Spain??

The Canaries are likely to be the most reliable short haul sunshine in December.

Madeira is also lovely at that time of year as PP says.

Grab canaria. Puerto Rico/ Mogan is the warmest resort due to the position of the resort in the mountains/ cliffs and being the most southerly.

Egypt and Cale Verde are 6 hour flights if you can stare t to another 2 hours.

Thank you. I'll take a look at these options and see what I can come up with.

Marrakech. We went in mid Dec and it was lovely - chilly mornings and evenings but blue skies and warm to hot in the middle of the day. Also no jetlag.

I agree. But Puerto Mogan would be my choice.
