Off to Eastbourne for a long weekend with friends (adults only). Would love to hear some recommendations of nice places for lunch, dinner, cocktails.

We'll have a car so happy to drive or catch the train along the coast.

Thank you.

Ganges in the Harbour is a great Indian and has a bar called The Garden Bar nextdoor. For Italian Picasso's in town or Pablo's at the Harbour are great. For cocktails Eastbourne Cocktail Club in town.

Best Indian restaurant by far is Malayam on Terminus Rd by the sea.

A friend went to the new restaurant in the Towner art gallery and said it was incredible but I've not eaten there myself.

Wine bar - try Levels at fhe back of the Grand.

Also, Port is nice for food and cocktails, it's the black hotel to the east of the pier.

Bistro Pierre has fabulous views but the menu doesn't appeal to me as a veggie so not eaten there.

If you want a breakfast, try the Beach Kitchen. A real locals favourite.

Off the beaten track slightly but only a short walk from the sea is Perch in Prince's Park. Good food and a lovely location.

Eight Bells, Jevington - stunning pub garden
Light at the top of The Towner
Rathfinney
Poco, Alfriston - pasta, wine & coffee

Thank you so much. These all sound wonderful- I'm off to look them up. I've had a coffee at the Towner but didn't realise there was a restaurant.

Do you think we need to book for Friday/Saturday evening?

Anything else going on that you would recommend? We arrive Thursday next week. Looking forward to it Smile

Another vote for Port, The Tiger Inn, and there’s lovely places in Alfriston. Also, you could go to Rathfinny winery they have a beautiful restaurant
