If so would you recommend?

Im looking to do a a 4-5 night break in august 2024 with the kids. (11&13 at the time)

I can see it’s got a half decent beach? And anywhere I book would have a pool to but Iv never even heard of it before until I just did some research.

flights seem cheap too.

This won’t be our main holiday. It’s just something to break up the 6 weeks school holidays.

I’ve been recently but Girona is inland. I had a good time exploring the city which features in Game of Thrones. Lots of stairs to climb. Check out the route to hotel very carefully if arriving by train as I had to climb hundreds of steps in heat and rain to mine!!!! Taxis were hard to find …
loved the city but an overnight stop for me before going to friends’ just outside Barcelona.

I think the part I was looking at was flying into Barcelona Girona airport and then getting a taxi/transfer to Platja d’Aro which is on the beach bit….

Platja D'aro is very family friendly OP, it has a lot of Eurocamp sites so is geared up for tourists. It has the usual Spanish resort mix of nice restaurants and tourist places, kids entertainment and tourist shops. You could definitely spend a few days there and find enough to do.
If you hire a car there are some lovely villages to the north and a trip to the Dali museum on Figueres would be great with kids that age.

That stretch of coast is known as the Costa Brava, maybe you have heard of it after all?

Lots of lovely places.

Platja D’aro is great, there is also a water park just outside the town which would be good for kids. Lovely long beach there and just out of the main town some stunning coves.

Girona is a beautiful city. I haven’t been to Platja D’Aro but have been to Tossa de Mar and Pineda de Mar and would recommend both. The only hesitation I’d have is that last July when we were in Pineda de Mar, it was 32 degrees on the coast and forecast 38 in Girona city. We were planning on going for the day but that is too hot for me/dds (4&1). So bear that in mind if you plan on visiting the city itself.

I've been to costa brave coast lots of times.

Have been to Loret de mar which is very touristy and busy, callella de La costa which is quieter but nice enough and my favourite is Tossa de mar.
