Hi, when would be the best month to go? Prefer out of school hols if possible but don’t want to go when it’s more likely to be cloudy! Can anyone advise?

We’ve been in early May and late September and had pretty good weather both times. Late September it was starting to get a bit foggy towards the end of the cruise, so I’d probably go in May again if I went.

Its Norway, just like in the U.K. you can't guarantee the weather. My brother had great weather in May, my parents had bad weather in June a while back, chance I'm afraid

I went to the Fjords on P&O Iona on 15th April this year. Amazing cruise. Was very lucky with weather. Sunny and warm for most of week. Was able to be on deck in a T-shirt for some of the days. However the week after was cloudy and rainy. So it is luck with the weather. But the scenery is stunning that I would still love it whatever the weather...

Thanks! It’s so hard to decide! I’m thinking end Aug/Beg Sept as schools go back mid Aug here in Scotland & we will go from Rosyth.

We went there the first week of September and the weather was wonderful for us. We can't cope with burning hot sun very well so prefer warm but not too hot.

We went 10 to 17th June also on Iona and had amazing weather - but so dis the UK that week!!

The views were amazing and this can be seen from anywhere on the boat, inside or out so do the need to worry to much about the weather.

LittleMrsPretty · 27/06/2023 18:25

*don’t need to worry about the weather

Also went on Iona on 15th April. Great weather but cold. We loved it as it was bright and dry during the day but still snowy on the top of the mountain when we went up the loen sky lift

We took a trip in June 2 years ago. It wa sunny one day only but did not mar the beauty of Norwegian Fjords. Only rained one day but if you go in June, you are in the land of the midnight sun! It stays light, making your day longer.

Look ahead for Norwegian bank holidays etc. We went on one, and one of the ports was an absolute ghost town. Just speaking from experience :).
