Gran Canaria - nicest resorts?

Week in early Nov, DH with DSs 22 and 18 so nowhere really quiet but we hate huge hotels/complexes with rows of sun beds! 😁Looking for somewhere authentic with a few nice bars/places to eat. Thank you.

Costa Meloneras is a nice resort, it's chilled with a promenade of nice restaurants.

Only really know the big hotels though, the Lopesan ones.

Not really very authentic tbh but it is pleasant.

Puerto de mogan is lovely.

Puerto de Mogan is heaven. Though a hidden gem so not sure I want to tell people

Thank you! I had seen Mogan and looked nice.

Porto de Mogan is beautiful with a lovely marina and lots of nice restaurants.

Have also stayed in Melanores which was nice but more big AI hotels there is a strip of restaurants which were nice and a few designer shops

I second Meloneras. Have stayed in the Lopesan hotel a few times and it's great. The suites are amazing! It's just a short walk to Maspalomas where there is more varied nightlife.

Any Puerto Mogan accommodation recommendations please?

Cordial Mogan Playa looks lovely. Great reviews. I can only agree that Porto de Mogan is where I would stay if I went to a Gran Canaria again. Great market each week.

Puerto Mogan is lovely. One of my favourite places. But it’s very quiet. Will it be too quiet for your DSs? For instance Rob’s bar closes midnight and one other stays open until 1am ish.

Lovely restaurants but very quiet by 11pm.

If you want apartments in the marina area. Bar Marina apartments. If you want family apartments with pools Cordial Mogan Valle. Or the hotel next door The Cordial Mogan Playa. The Radisson at the entrance to the valley may not be your taste as quite big and I think a bit soulless. There are also apartments with private plunge pools but super pricey.

Or numerous nice apartments to rent on the usual sites. Holiday Lettings, Booking.com etc.

Mogan looks lovely - boys will be happy with a couple of bars!

Puerto do Mogan is lovely, but it's a small resort town that's popular with families and retirees. If I was 22 or 18 I think I'd find it pretty dull and tame tbh. I think your boys would probably prefer Maspalomas or Playa del Ingles in the south.
