Hi I’m posting with my fingers crossed as I have already booked without researching the area in great detail but I have booked a 7 day holiday in Zafiro Palaca Palmanova as it looks amazing with great reviews (booked as package with jet2) but I’m now worried that the area of Palma Nova May be full of young roudy teens? Has anyone any experience of this area in July? Honest answers please

Palma Nova is indeed right next to Magaluf, but is more mixed in terms of ages there and definitely not as rowdy. Lovely beach and nice bars on the front- you are also on a really good 'air condioned' bus route that can take you into paguera one way ( big German dominated mixed age resort) or into Palma the other way (I love Palma)

@Crikeyalmighty thank you for your reply, ahh I’m a little more relieved to hear it isn’t as rowdy as the holiday was not cheap and I haven’t even told my partner about my worries as he will kill me for not researching the area it being so dear!! If all fails the hotel looks fab so we can spend our days there 😅

Don't know if you've got kids but get yourself in a cab one evening and go approx 3 miles (cabs are really cheap) to Puerto portals- fab really upmarket marina! Full of euro trash but great for people watching. It's all expensive for eating apart from the 1 very good pizzeria but great for a terrace drink at Cappucino and a wander around looking at the yachts!! We usually stay in Puerto portals so I know the area well.

Another lovely place closeish to you is camp de mar- on the bus - beautiful tree lined bay with beach bars and a fantastic Japanese beach bar and a couple of gorgeous Spanish restaurants too

Your hotel looks fab by the way!!! I'm sure you will enjoy it- just skirt round Magaluf!! It is to be honest the only horrible place in the area- and even then it does have a great beach!!

We went to that hotel last October with my 7 and 3 year old. It was a brilliant holiday! Hotel was great and a lovely short flat walk to a great beach for swimming with kids. It was a different time of year but nice family groups rather than teenagers, and no overspill from Magaluf. The seafood restaurant on the beach was brilliant. Have fun - I'm very jealous!

I've done it sole with DS. Fabulous holiday lots of small parks on the beach. 2 close beaches within walking distance and lots of shops around.

I remember seeing the Magaluf area but it didn't bother me you don't have to hang around there exactly.

I would go back.

I think we did a themed park day forgotten the name but it was within a hotel fab memories.

Palma Nova is very family friendly, we've been a couple of times with our children and really enjoyed it

Broodywuz · 24/08/2023 15:15

Hi OP, I just wonder how your holiday went? We're thinking about booking for next year with 5 and 2 year old dc.

Mamamia94 · 26/08/2023 16:47

Hey @Broodywuz firstly, the hotel I stayed in was amazing! But not cheap to stay there I have to say! Palma nova itself is just ok as in it has a little strip to walk up and down but I found it hard to get a good decent meal, I would say all in all the location was about 6/10. I would definitely recommend Tenerife any day with your babies, I wouldn’t return to Majorca even though I had a good time! Just my opinion though :-)

Thanks *@Mamamia94 I'm hearing some mixed reports about majorca. It's the travel that's appealing to me, short flight and really good flight times from our local airport compared to Tenerife.

cocksstrideintheevening · 28/08/2023 13:53

Majorca is fab, Palmanova is not

Crikeyalmighty · 28/08/2023 14:23

@Broodywuz Majorca is fab- and I'm fussy as hell. Palma nova whilst ok ish really isn't a great example as it's bang next to Magaluf. It really depends what you want though, if you want whacking water parks joining a hotel but not in the middle of nowhere, you will struggle with this in Majorca. They decided a few years-ago to attract tourists who spent more in the community and not go down the AI vast complexes . They still have bits of this in Alcudia , Cala bona etc- but not as much as places like Turkey and canaries.
