I like Menorca more than Mallorca, it's a bit more laid back somehow! Make sure you factor in transfer time from the airport - a lot of the really lovely resorts in Mallorca are in the north of the island which could mean a 90 minute coach journey, it negates the short flight! So look at resorts within 30 mins of the airport wherever you go.

Alcudia pins is amazing for children

TheFairyCaravan · 22/06/2023 18:39

I agree, Menorca is better than Mallorca. Most flights are in the day, definitely not late at night/early hours and the transfers are short. Everything is geared up towards families or older people.

You can't go wrong with a family focused Iberostar. The one we've been to is called Ciudad Blanca in Alcudia.

Royal Son Bou Family Club (Menorca) or
Invisa Figueral Resort (Ibiza) might fit the bill

Fivemoreminutes1 · 22/06/2023 19:42

I second Royal Son Bou

Merrz · 22/06/2023 22:29

Thanks for the replies, Royal Son Bou looks lovely!

We just came back from Insotel Punta Prima on Menorca last week and had the most amazing time. Highly recommend.

Salou great for families. They have lovely beaches, it’s not too stag/hen dos. It’s a 2 1/2 hour flight (we usually drive to Manchester as it’s a lot cheaper than a Scottish airport) transfer from Reus airport 20 mins. Portaventura theme park is great for young children as is the water park, there’s also Ferrari land it has a few little rides.

Cala Bona in Majorca is ideal for children. Lovely safe family resort. I lived out there one summer when my children were younger. They loved it. The bus network is great for day trips and overall it was out best holiday.

Thanks, lot's of lovely ideas to look into. Next question, who's best to book through for this kind of holiday. Jet2, TUI, First Choice?

Iberostars are great hotels, i liked the Club Cala Barca in Majorca but it is a long transfer.
If you can take a longer the flight the Iberostar Selection in Lanzarote was brilliant
I find Jet2 to be the best, great service and they are usually cheaper than Tui

You can't go wrong with Jet2 these days, although I have noticed their prices have crept up over Tui this year. But out of school hols you should be fine!
