If you had a motorhome and 9 days holiday, and could explore anywhere in Britain, where would you go?

Looking for recommendations of where to explore, and where is a must see in our beautiful country!

Cornwall is my favourite place

Look at the Trossachs, Loch Lomond and up to Glen or. Head over to Arisaig and visit Plockton.

Pembrokeshire or Lake District or Yorkshire. I’m a pure city girl but I love those settings. Depends though if you want coast, lakes or moors.

North Wales. Snowdon, Lleyn Peninsula and Anglesey.

North Coast 500

The west side and top specifically. Some of the eastern side of it weren't so nice ime. The west side was stunning.

Another vote for the Gower in to Pembrokeshire. Amazing coastline.

LadyFlumpalot · 23/06/2023 19:25

The far west of Cornwall, Botallack, St Just and Cape Cornwall. It's fabulously beautiful in a brooding, industrial, craggy sort of way.

I agree about motor homes being a pain, especially the ones that don’t use official sites. There are always some on a local common near us and they often get shirty when local scout and guide groups turn up for their meetings, deliberately letting their dogs loose. Sometimes they come and sit really close to the activities, glaring at the kids. The local groups have been using the common for at least 30 years but the recent influx of camper vans don’t seem to like them doing it.
Apparently there is a website where camper van owners post free places to park up and that’s why so many of them are there now.
There is a car park nearby that has camper vans parked up for a few days. It’s a free car park, more of a clearing really but now the vans stay there over night, no one can park there to use it for walking or picnics etc. I believe that’s also on the camper van website.
I am happy for people to use camper vans but I think they should stay in proper, paid for and managed sites.

Northumberland.

Any day.

Also Pembrokeshire.

Are you looking to travel somewhere , park up and stay, or are you planning on touring ? I think I may travel around wales . We holiday quite a lot on the north coast near Conwy, and are also familiar with Harlech, Barmouth, Aberdovey but I quite fancy the idea of heading further south from west wales and around to Pembrokeshire.

Unless you like driving a long way in one go, or you already live in Scotland or the north of England you may need longer than 9 days to tour around in the highlands of Scotland .

The north West coast of Wales is possibly one of the most beautiful places in the world never mind Britain.

It's absolutely breathtaking, especially where the mountains meet the sea

Devon, Dorset and Cornwall.
