Do you live for the holidays ?

I think my hobby and favourite pass time is planning holidays and looking at places to visit, dreaming with being by the sea which is my happy place.

I am not unhappy with my life; but dream of sun, sea and relaxation. This feeling has grown stronger since I started working full time in a fast paced environment. I like my job but I feel my live is just spent working.

Do other people feel this way?

I am similar to PP in that I LOVE seeing other people’s travel photos and hearing about what they got up to on their latest trip. Most of my travel inspiration comes from friends’ social media posts. But i find that this is generally not reciprocated and that most people show no interest in other people’s travels and yes, seem to be quite envious and bitter.

The way people say “X family go away every school holiday 🙄”… um, why wouldn’t you?! If it’s affordable why does this trigger envy in a way spending money on clothes and furniture doesn’t? I have been judged for ‘always travelling’ by people whose wealth far exceeds mine. It’s utterly baffling.

Nice to know others feel the same. DH loves holidays when he is there, really gets into it; but not much of a planner and live the day to day

True, sometimes I don’t want to mention it as I feels like showing off. I rarely post photos on social media. I find inspiration from this board

Yeah, I’ve long given up posting anything on social media!

I plan a minimum of 4 holidays a year.
I love it.
I am always looking at new places to go.
I've been to Mauritius and Sicily this year. I am also going to Barbados and Nice.
I also like a good deal and do a lot of research.
As a family we work hard and we love the time to reconnect when we are away.

I have a fairly firm mental plan, but nothing booked as yet 😁
