Car seat in France for a 9 year old ?

Hi

I’ve tried to navigate the French website, but can I check with anyone who knows for sure?

I have a 9 year old, who weighs 30kg. Does she definitely need a car seat for the back seat? It mentions a car seat or a restraint…. Is that the seatbelt clip on style restriction they have?

My understanding was until 150cm tall or 12yo. My 10yo used a booster cushion on a recent trip. (France/Netherlands/Germany)

We took a booster seat (the ones that just got under the bum?) to France last summer for our 8 year old. Luckily it didn't count as part of any luggage on Air France, but there was an option to pay for one with our rental car.
