One perfect day in Ischia?

We’re going to Ischia in a few weeks, meeting some of our closest friends who are arriving from the US. 2 nights on the island so one full day, staying in an AirBnB in Forio and have hired scooters that day.

what would you do/where would you go if you just had one full day (we’ll prob do ischia Porte on our second day before getting the ferry to Amalfi) bonus points if you can give me a brilliant idea to spoil our friends as one turns 40 during our trip

I would go to the Castello Aragonese in the morning - views are stunning! And then maybe have lunch at the land end of the causeway - there's a great seafood restaurant at the end. In the afternoon I would either - go to Sant Angelo and get the water taxi to the beach so you can swim in the fumaroles. And then have aperatives at the Pirate Bar. Or go the Poseidon Spa. Both on way back from Castello to Forio. I didn't like Forio very much. Much better restaurants in Ischia Porto and Ponte. The botanical gardens are lovely - but very hilly. There's the Negombo spa too but haven't visited that. Castello is not to be missed though. There's a courtyard bar cafe near the top of the lift where you can grab a limoncello spritz and take in the scenery.

I’ve been to Negombo open air spa some years ago. It was great and next to the beach. You can get a massage too (inside 🙂).

Negumbo over Poseidon - we much preferred it. Go to the lovely Giardini La Mortella in Forio too.
