Anyone flown from Manchester recently?

We fly to Austria from Manchester in 7 weeks and I am getting twitchy (nervous flyer, so overthinking everything 😬)

Obviously, you never really know until you go, but, from what I gather, the airports are not anywhere near as chaotic as they were this time last year?

Security wait times on airport website seem to be between 15-30 minutes at most. Obviously that's only an estimate though.

We fly at 8.35am in the morning so hoping to do day before bag drop and online check in to make it as easy as possible.

Has anyone flown recently? How was it - OK or total nightmare (hopefully not for anyone!). Hoping it will be relatively smooth but just getting twitchy - any other airport tips welcome!

I flew from Manchester a couple of weeks ago.
There were no queues. No issues nothing.

I flew from T2 at 9.15am recently, bog standard 10 min queue for security that's all.

Flew from Manchester last week, shorts queues for security, queue less than 5 minutes. Plenty of seats available in departures. Flight was delayed due to strikes in French air space affecting previous flight but other than that no issue.

Flew Friday Evening a couple of weeks ago when a lot of the local schools were still off.

Was a breeze.

Security was about 30mins - but only cos there was a couple of VERY drunk hen and stage dos ahead of us.

They weren't allowing card payments at any of the bars airside either, which gives you an idea of how fun it was!

I fly from there once every few weeks, it’s much better now. You’ll be fine

SeasonsBleatings · 19/06/2023 19:19

It's been a few months since I flew but I bought a fast track pass for security and was through in 15 mins

I flew from Manchester in Jan, it wasn't great tbh but we did manage to catch the flight. I would say give yourself plenty of time and make sure your luggage is packed 100% correctly. Liquids / creams / medications (including inhalers) identified and separated. Don't overload trays. Be prepared to remove belts, shoes etc etc

Went early June. Queues weren’t too bad but it was a nightmare getting somewhere to sit once you got
through to departures and forget going somewhere nice for food - queues a mile long.

Phos · 19/06/2023 19:26

I mean queues for check in and security weren’t bad but queues for food were

whiteroseredrose · 19/06/2023 19:29

We flew on Sunday evening and there was a slight queue for security, but we were through in less than half an hour. Same with Passport Control on the way back.

Flew from T3 no issues
