how to get from LAX to hotel with no car seat?

We have two nights in LA en route to NZ and we're not taking a car seat with us. Any ideas on how to get from the airport to the hotel and back? We will have about six suitcases so public transport is not an option! The shuttle companies all seem to say that you need to provide your own car seat. Any advice gratefully received!

Does the hotel you're staying at run their own shuttle service to the airport?. If so I would contact them to arrange a pick up (they are also more likely to have a car seat). If they don't I'd call a private hire company (your hotel should be able to provide details of one) to collect you.

Contact all parties involved and explain your situation. Bottom line....children MUST be in carseats. You could be arrested otherwise. Most of the time you can rent one. What about renting a car? You can reserve a car seat directly with them.
