Hotel recommendations for NYC please, these are the places we are looking at going to amongst others, will be 3 adults 2 children in December

I stayed in The Roosevelt which was a perfect location for everything.

Also boring fact that Maid in Manhattan was filmed in that hotel

The Kimpton is perfectly placed for the majority of those and just a block from the subway to get to the others! Or the new virgin hotel is also quite close.

The New Yorker.

The Omni Berkshire Place or Sanctuary Hotel are both really central. Also recommend the Iroquois.

We stayed at The Beacon - it’s not as central but you can very easily walk to Times Sq and or there’s a subway station right outside.

We preferred having apartment-style rooms, with a living room etc. than being all in one hotel room. It meant we could get a takeaway one night (which the DC loved) and be comfortable eating it.

We enjoyed walking along the high line. And top of the Rock.

We went up the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty on our last visit and wouldn't bother again. Very windy. I preferred the boat tour where you sail past.

The knickerbocker is amazing and has a rooftop bar.

Just resurrecting this. I’m looking to go to NYC soon. All the tourist hotels that look ok are around Times Square. Is it really the worst place to stay? Some of the hotels look fine.

Lots suggest the Kimpton but is it in a good spot to get around? Last time we went we were right in mid town at The Roosevelt and position wise that was fine. That hotel is now a place for asylum seekers.

My mind is blown by the choice. Help!

We've stayed at Radio City Apartments. It's reasonably central, but the big advantage for me is that the rooms have kitchenettes with a seating area. It means that you can refrigerate drinks etc, make your own hot drinks and have breakfast there rather than spend a fortune having breakfast out every morning.

Do you think February will be too cold for a NY trip?

We went feb last year, although it was cold, you do so much walking it’s fine
stayed one block down from Times Sq and it was fine. Felt safe everywhere, so many police
