Beginners skiing and snowboarding at new year

Hi all
can anyone advise on somewhere reasonably priced for skiing and snowboarding over New Year for people that haven’t done it in years? Would somewhere in Slovenia be a good option?
thanks

Kranjska Gora is the only place I'd consider going skiing in Slovenia, but compared to resorts in Austria, Italy and France it is tiny - just 20km of of pistes - and there is a reason why the resorts in Slovenia and Bulgaria are cheaper than elsewhere.

While you don't need the 400+km of somewhere like Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Zell am See-Kaprun, 20km is probably too little as much of it won't be suitable for beginners.

Rauris in Austria gets good reviews here, or look at somewhere like Kronplatz in Italy. Nowhere is going to be "reasonably priced" over New Year - outside of the peak weeks in mid-February, the New Year week is the most expensive of the entire season.

Ask the same question on the skiing forum on Snowheads and ask for your post here to be moved to the "Skiing" forum on MN.

Thank you - I didn’t realise there is a specific skiing section on mn so I will ask to move the post
