I would like my ds spend a lot of time outdoor
Please where ( not too far) can we go with access to

  • lake
  • some rock climbing
  • adventure cycling etc?

Is there anything of similar quality like Lake District, closer to London?

Thank you

Do you climb yourself, or will you need an organised course?

Outward bound is good, or pgs. The peak district has climbing courses.

crumpet · 16/06/2023 12:50

Sorry that should be PGL

If South Wales is not too far the Brecon Beacons would be perfect for lots of adventure activities such as rock climbing, Llangorse Lake is great and also one of the world's best bike parks is at Merthyr Tydfil.

Peak District will be the closest place to London with decent rock climbing and mountain biking.

The Roaches neer Leek would have all you need.

There's a climbing school in Upper Hulme near the Roaches that do climbing trips:

These guys in the building next door do e-bike adventures:

And there's a beautiful reservoir in the valley below that has a water sports centre:

My three teenage guys would love most of those things.

The Castle in London is great for rock climbing 😃 (only a bit outdoors though)
