Is it worth going abroad for 5 nights?

Hi everyone,

Looking to just get some sun & a little break away with my partner & 2 children.

We’d be flying very late on the 1st July so that’s basically a day/night gone & flying back very early in the morning on the 7th. So technically would have 5 nights there. Flight duration around 2 hours 45 minutes.

Only have to pay for flights as would be staying in my dads villa, so no extra expense for accommodation. Looking at around £580 for flights.

Wondering if it’s worth it.

What’s everyone’s thoughts?

Thanks!

Think it depends on how easy the children are and how well they tolerate heat and early morning/late night flights and routine disruptions

To be honest when my son was that age I had a rule of flights only between 11am and 5.30 pm - even though they were a lot more (when available) because dealing with a fed up 2,year old at 7am or 10pm at an airport kind of took the gloss off the break for me.

Absolutely worth it

Wouldn't think twice, I've gone long haul for less time (not with kids mind, but would do what you're proposing with them).

I regularly go for 3/4/5 nights

Yes it’s definitely worth it, I’ve done some crazy trips including Cape Town for three nights.
All my breaks/holidays have been worth it.

I think a lot of people who say it’s not worth it end up doing nothing.

We've done a couple of long weekends (3 nights) where there was an easy transfer from the airport and it was definitely worth it . We only ever use our closest UK airport too. The only thing that would make me question a 5 night stay would be if there was s long journey to/from the airport at either end as that adds a lot to your 2.45 hour flight .
