Caribbean or Thailand

Have 10 days off in early July.

I’ve been to Phuket and other islands twice. LOVED it. Thinking about going to Singapore then on to Ko Samui or Ko Phangan for the week.

Been to Antigua before and liked it. I preferred Thailand because can stay in a 4-5* hotel and not worry about the cost of food when you go out.

Found the Caribbean quite ‘hard work’. Mainly because not rich so watching where we went etc.

DH grew up in Hong Kong so used to
spend every holiday in Thailand. He wants to go to the Caribbean. But I want to go to Thailand, because for me I’d rather feel pampered you know?

Well I’d go for the shorter flight

I have been all around the Caribbean islands and I also absolutely love SE Asia - I'd definitely chose Thailand but I'd find the time difference difficult to adjust to in just 10 days but if that's not an issue for you then Thailand!

It's rainy season in July (also hurricane season in the Caribbean in July) but Thai islands such as Koh Samui, Koh Tao etc will be less rainy

Tricky, tricky, tricky , I think I’d pick Thailand (if it’s the right time of the year) as I’ve been to the Caribbean so many times.

I just find the quality of service and hotels is so much better in Asia than the Caribbean and much better choice for eating out etc. I've had lovely holidays in Cuba, Tobago etc, but still would chose Thailand or Vietnam.

I'm going on a family holiday to Singapore and Thailand Koh Samui for 2 weeks from mid July. Does anyone know if we should take local currency for eating out in the evening on Koh Samui or use a credit card?
