Me, DH, 2DD, DMum and FIL.

We want to go somewhere for a week at Xmas. Would like some warmth (ideally), a bit of adventure, a bit of RnR. I’m wondering if anywhere a bit different exists that doesn’t involve a long flight.

Any ideas?

cape verde isn’t somewhere I’m familiar with. I’ll have a look.

We spent Christmas at a villa in Tenerife a few years ago, it was so lovely. We took my elderly father and he really enjoyed it. Adventures up Mount Teide and a few stunningly beautiful road trips plus relaxing by the pool. Nothing shut down for Christmas Day, all the restaurants and shops were still open.

Cyprus and Crete can be rainy in the winter.

Yes, I'd head to the Canaries @doingthehokeykokey. We spent new year in Lanzarote a few years ago and it was lovely - sunny and bright and low 20s - such a nice contrast to the grey and cold in the UK.

We went to Tenerife one Christmas and had a great time. There are some stunning drives to do and also lots of nice promenades for going on an evening stroll.
If you like resorts and don’t want to long haul I’d pick Egypt , it you did decide to fly long haul I’d suggest the Caribbean.
