Lufthansa with 2 young kids

I’m due to fly from Heathrow to Sarajevo (with stopover in Frankfurt) with my 2 and 4 year old kids.

I’ve never flown with this airline before and was just wondering if there’s a chance that they could seat us away from each other?
All other airlines I’ve flown with will always place a small child with an adult, but unsure about this one.

I’ve paid so much for the tickets already and don’t really want to pay for seat selection unless I absolutely have to.

Anyone that was flown on this airline with children before?

I flew with Lufthansa last year from Frankfurt to Heathrow and was seated with my 5 & 6yo.

We were also given free water, chocolate and kids' activity pack.

I'm usually a Ryanair gal so this level of luxury was unheard of 😂

@WelcomeToMonkeyTown Tbh I normally fly with Ryanair/easyJet and they have always seated us together when I’ve flown with kids alone.
only paid for it when I go with husband as I want all of us to sit together.

I was hoping that Lufthansa do the same especially as their seat allocating is quite expensive (£12 per person x4 flights). At least the cheapies have free allocation for kids.

We flew as a family - 2 adults and 2 kids and the automatically put us all together.

I don't know if this is policy or just good fortune though! I was v angry with husband for not booking seats and was all prepared for us to be separated and yell at him.... and then it didn't happen 😂

We've used Lufthansa twice with DC, once with a change of planes in Frankfurt and once with a change in Munich. I used the airline quite a bit many years ago when I lived in Germany. Favourite airline, very reliable and good service. On the flights we were on with DC passengers appeared to be almost all business travellers rather than families, on one of the flights my DC were the only children. Cabin staff were especially nice to the DC. Activity packs for kids are standard. We're going to Cologne later this year and are using Eurowings which is their budget carrier, so we'll see how that differs.

@Philandbill good point about Frankfurt being a business route. I can see that there’s a few single seats booked already which could make sense.

I think I might just risk it and maybe keep an eye on the seat selection as I get closer to the date.

I did actually call their customer services and they confirm that there is a possibility that we could be separated. They couldn’t answer about what would happen in case of an emergency and I needed to get to my child which is reassuring. 😂

I fly them all the time, never pay for seats and they have always seated me with my children.
