How do I clean a travel cot?

Am going away this weekend, and just collected a Graco cot via freecycle. V kind donor did warn me it needed 'a bit of a clean', but it's filthy and stinks of fags.

No instructions or care labels - does anyone know how i might clean it up?

DS once had a mega puke in his and I put it up in the garden and gave it a massive scrub down with scouring sponges and cold water mixed with washing powder, then rinsed it off under a cold shower partially collapsed.
Turn upside down to dry.
I have no idea if tis made the metal bits rusty but it worked fine for us.

As for the fag smell, sadly you might find it is hard to shift.
