Luggage

Going abroad for 2 weeks and paid for the airline to take a case. Does that mean I can still take a cabin bag? My suitcase is only allowed to hold 20kg and I normally take a handbag, but wondering if I could take one of those cabin bags on wheels - like a mini suitcase - as well. I'm flying with Sun Express.
Also, I need to get a new suitcase, but hard cases weigh more. Are these worth it?

To ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers, only one piece of hand baggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg is allowed in the cabin. The dimensions may not exceed 55 x 40 x 23 cm. The SunLight fare only includes a small piece of hand baggage with a maximum weight of 4 kg (40 x 30 x 20 cm).

We use the IT soft cases usually as hard cases are harder to fit in the car and are heavier

Airlines all differ so you should do as I did and check their website for their T&Cs

All information would have been given to you on booking. Just look up their website if you're not sure

Alwayswonderedwhy · 09/06/2023 21:15

Check your booking?

Depends who you're flying with, check the baggage section they're all different.

OP has very kindly told us they're travelling with so we can do the research for them

I already put the info on the thread. I got it by googling the airline info

Which is exactly what OP could have done in the time it took them to create the thread.

Found them

yes OP - it’s listed on the main page what size of luggage you are allowed within each price band

re hard cases vs light- I think there’s not much in it. My main case is hard but quite light weight. The older ones would be heavier perhaps

You need to check the rules for the fare you have bought.

DH prefers hard cases - they protect the contents but get cracked by some baggage handlers We have had one held together by Duct tape for several years.

I prefer soft cases, as they are slightly more forgiving to being over packed.

We buy our suitcases in TK Maxx! We tend to get what they have when we need a case - we lived abroad for several years, and needed to buy several at various times!
