Haven't taken both DDs abroad before so all advice much appreciated. Need a really nice villa, prob with pool unless right next to the beach - we may take a grown-up niece too, so 4 bedrooms I think.

It'll be in school summer holidays and I need some SUN!

ooops

. Just read you are looking for a school holiday rental. Good luck as they go very fast. My parents' villa has been fully booked during the school holidays since last year and we are already having enquiries for the school holidays in 2009.

If you change your mind, then the July special offer is certainly a great one.

Thanks aznerak - hope we're not too late. Any other recommendations anyone?

Majorca is lovely and child friendly.. We went here last year.

smartiejake · 22/02/2008 16:11

Portugal is nice with little ones as it's not too hot. The beaches are lovely and people very friendly and welcoming to children and families.

We have had some super villa holidays in Praia da Luz ( 5 years in a row) but I don't suppose many people want to go there now.

hi franch.

we've never done private villa w/pool. i much prefer the idea of a small group of gites/villas with a shared pool - other kids on hand for ours to play with but without having to go on holiday with another family.

if i were going to go for a villa, those websites i linked to are where i'd start.

we have stayed at Domaine St Apolis in the herault regard of the langued'oc - i suspect this isn't swanky enough for you . i really liked it the setting is pretty but the accommodation is rather basic.

we are going to Mas de Puech in the gard region of the langued'oc this summer.

i've also had Montengrand near carcassonne recommended to me.

so yes i would recommend the langued'oc!

"herault regard of the langued'oc"

er, what? the herault region of the langued'oc.

We used Owners Direct a couple of years ago and it was fine. We went to spain.

Thsi year we are using holidaylets.net, I think. we are going near Vendee region in France.

bossykate · 22/02/2008 16:58

oh fhs! Montengrand

and i did preview what an eejit!

TraceyAcabanes · 22/02/2008 18:59

We have a luxury villa in the Dordogne that we rent to families. I think it meets all your requirements. The website is www.acabanes.co.uk- please get in touch if you want any more information or help with travel

franch · 23/02/2008 12:08

Thanks all.

Montengrand does look nice bossy. Think we'll need 4 bedrooms tho as we're taking at least 1 extra person

Your villa does look nice TA - will show it to DH

We have just finished rennovating our house in Tuscany and it will be rented out this summer.

Website is www.myholidayintuscany.com.

It is about 40 minutes from a beach, 5 minutes from the main town, situated in a small hamlet in northern tuscany - tucked away from the well trodden tuscan tourist trails. There is a pool, 4 doubles and 2 singles (which will each sleep 2 kids as they are trundle beds), 2 travel cots, 2 high chairs, steriliser, fence in front of the pool to stop toddlers falling in etc! Sleeps 10+ people.

Hi,

We have a gite in Lower Normandy and are currently taking bookings for 2009.

We have kept the prices the same as last year.

We are VERY child friendly and have a pool.

Check it out!
